Student Involvement

Ways to Get Involved at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø

Do you have a cause that is close to your heart? Two? Three? You’re among friends. Students have endless opportunities to get involved while at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø. Expand your leadership skills. Take part in the greater community through community engagement projects. Immerse yourself in experiences that promote an understanding of self, others, and the world.

The Gué Pardue Hudson Center for Leadership, Engagement and Service  encourages students to get actively and intentionally involved and serves a primary resource for leadership, service, and social programs and activities

Academic Organizations – From Scot-Techs to Public Health Club to National Honor Societies, 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø gives you an opportunity to pursue your academic interests outside of the classroom. Find your academic passion here.

Health-Related Organizations – Several groups on campus help promote healthy lifestyles and/or work to educate students about health issues. Learn more about health-related organizations here.

Multicultural and Sexual Orientation & Identity Organizations – Under the umbrella of the Coalition of Student Multicultural Organizations (COSMO), 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø celebrates the diversity of its students by offering opportunities to bring different groups of students together to promote a sense of community on campus. COSMO includes a representative from each student organization and works closely with the Guy Johnson McDougall Center for Global Diversity and Inclusion. As a result, COSMO comprises a fantastic group of students from various backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and age groups. Performing Arts Groups – When it comes to the arts, 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø students are a talented bunch. Students have the opportunity to perform in theatre, dance, music, singing and poetry – just to name a few. Check out all the performing arts groups here.

Religious and Spiritual Life Organizations – The 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Interfaith Council oversees all student religious and spiritual organizations and helps to plan and organize activities on campus. Student Publications – For those who like to express themselves through writing, 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø has a student-run newspaper, a literary magazine, and an online media forum. Learn more about student publications here.

Service Organizations – More than 80% of 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø undergraduate students are actively involved in community service. Find out ways to get involved in our service organizations here.

Finding Ways to Connect

The organizations listed below are involved in the governance and/or planning many student activities. Their efforts help enhance the overall student experience. Membership in these groups is selective; students must meet certain qualifications and, in some cases, apply or be invited to join. Not all students can join these groups, but everyone benefits from their work!

Mortar Board – The Honorary Order of 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø, founded in 1931, is the oldest chapter of Mortar Board in Georgia. This community of 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø’s top-tier students is dedicated to upholding our school’s cherished traditions over many years, including organizing Black Cat each year.

Programming Board – One of the largest student-run organizations on 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø's campus, this group's mission is to create, plan, organize and execute many social events, including Black Cat Fall Formal and AgnesPalooza.

Student Government – Elected students of 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø serve as members of the Student Government Association (SGA). The SGA Governing Body is comprised of the SGA Executive Board as well as General Body Members. The student body elects members to the SGA each spring. First-Year Class officers and Senators are elected within the first two weeks of classes.
