Academic Organizations

The American Chemical Society Student Affiliates Organization offers opportunities for students to become better acquainted with the chemical sciences. This organization intends to secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from its professional association with the American Chemical Society. Members may obtain experience in preparing and presenting technical material before audiences interested in chemistry and may participate in various community service projects. The chapter strives to instill professional pride in the chemical sciences and promotes an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the modern chemist.
The Association of Women in Mathematics - Math Club holds math-related events for the ASC community and the wider community.
The Model United Nations Club at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø aims to foster a deeper understanding of global politics, diplomacy, and international relations by engaging students in realistic UN simulations. Our mission is to develop leadership, public speaking, and negotiation skills in our members while promoting global citizenship and cultural awareness. We strive to create a space where students can critically engage with current world issues, learn to collaborate with others, and represent diverse perspectives.
The Pre-Health Society works to educate people interested in pursuing any field of the healthcare profession. PHS wants to enrich student skills and knowledge regarding the process of following any pre-health track regardless of their major. This includes what courses to take, exams needed for their intended profession, as well as the overall application process and requirements outside of the university setting. They also work to create networking opportunities for student on any pre-health track. 
The Pre-Veterinary and Animal Services Society works to better the care and welfare of animals all over the world and to educate students on the veterinary sciences.
PsychNeuro Club (Psychology & Neuroscience Club) is a place for students interested in Psychology and Neuroscience at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø to get to know their classmates, participate in learning activities outside of the classroom, network with fellow students, alums and professionals, do volunteer projects together and stay connected with each other. We host various events such as movie nights, book talks, community service events and an end-of-the-semester coffee/doughnut break.
The Public Health Club at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø strives to promote health education, thus working towards a more accessible and equitable future, to advocate for the importance of self-care and a healthy lifestyle, to unify and create a safer Scottie community on and off-campus by sharing our innovation & knowledge with our surrounding neighborhoods, and to provide extensive and meaningful networking opportunities. Above all, the Public Health Club focuses on the pursuit of academic excellence, raising social and political awareness, community service, creating cultural and racial equity, and overall inclusivity. The Public Health Club welcomes everyone no matter their race, background, religion, sexual orientation, or gender classification.

Publius Pre-Law Society exists to empower and equip future Scottie lawyers of all backgrounds and majors. Each month, the group holds two meetings with the purpose of providing students with the tools and support they need as they prepare to take the LSAT, find internships at law firms and apply to law school. 

Publius exists for students and their needs. They are here to provide a network of students who also want to attend law school and can help guide Scotties toward that goal.

Scot-Techs aims to increase interest in and awareness of engineering and technology in the 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø student body through project-based learning, frequent event programming, and a focus on building applicable skills in a supportive community. It will also serve as the coordinating body for the "Scotties in Technology" umbrella, which incorporates any national tech-related organizational chapters at Agnes and other specialized groups.

Honor Societies 

The purpose of this organization is to recognize academic achievements in first-generation college students, create enthusiasm for scholarship, to promote leadership, and to provide support networks for first-generation students within and across college chapters.
Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students that fosters learning in the field of biology. The society is dedicated to cultivating intellectual interest in the natural sciences. It promotes the appreciation of biological study through its goals of stimulating scholarship, disseminating scientific knowledge and promoting biological research. TriBeta welcomes both biology majors and those with an interest in biology as members. The Sigma Upsilon Chapter of Beta Beta Beta at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø has activities throughout the year ranging from social gatherings to scientific meetings.
The National German Honorary Society, Delta Phi Alpha, Kappa Kappa chapter, seeks to recognize
excellence in the study of German and to provide an incentive for higher scholarship. The society promotes the study of the German language, literature, and civilization, and endeavors to emphasize those aspects of German life and culture that are of universal value and contribute to man’s eternal search for peace and truth. 
The Constitution of Eta Sigma Phi states that the purposes of the society are “to develop and promote interest in classical study among the students of colleges and universities, to promote closer fraternal relationship among students who are interested in classical study, including inter-campus relationship, to engage generally in an effort to stimulate interest in classical study, and in the history, art, and literature of ancient Greece and Rome.
Iota Iota Iota (Triota) is the national academic honor society for the field of Women’s Studies. Students at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø founded the Alpha Xi chapter in 2006. The purpose of the organization is to encourage and
support scholarship and excellence in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and to facilitate volunteerism, advocacy, and activism as important methods for promoting and maintaining feminist values
central to WGSS, such as egalitarianism and inclusiveness. To be considered for membership students must have: a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, have completed at least 12 credit hours in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the WGSS courses they have taken. Students do not have to be a WGSS major to participate in Triota.
Mortar Board members are selected for their outstanding achievements, but what truly brings them together is their dedication to helping others. This community of scholars creates change for good, whether on their college campuses, in their communities or at a global level.
The NSLS is an organization that provides a life-changing leadership program that helps students achieve personal growth, career success, and empowers them to have a positive impact in their community.

The official mission and purpose of Nu Rho Psi is to:

  1. Encourage professional interest and excellence in scholarship, particularly in Neuroscience.
  2. Award recognition to students who have achieved such excellence in scholarship.
  3. Advance the discipline of Neuroscience.
  4. Encourage intellectual and social interaction between students, faculty, and professionals in Neuroscience and related fields.
  5. Promote career development in Neuroscience and related fields.
  6. Increase public awareness of Neuroscience and its benefits for the individual and society.
  7. Encourage service to the community.
The unique mission of O∆K is to recognize and encourage collaboration among collegiate leaders. Our Society seeks to identify, celebrate, and engage collegiate and community leaders from different backgrounds, perspectives, and generations. Members enjoy scholarship opportunities, leadership development programs, access to a national network, and much more.
Omicron Delta Epsilon, the International Economics Honor Society, was created in 1963. 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø's chapter, Mu of Georgia, was established in 1993. Omicron Delta Epsilon strives to recognize scholastic attainment in economics and establish closer ties between students and faculty in economics. The 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø chapter meets these objectives by engaging in various activities around campus including an occasional economics discussion over lunch, social events, current topic colloquia and field trips to places such as the Federal Reserve Bank. 
Phi Alpha Theta, the National Honor Society in History, was founded in 1921 to foster the research,
publication, and teaching of history. The 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø chapter was formed in 1998. Students who have
completed at least 12 credit hours in history with a 3.1 grade-point average or better, who have at least a
3.0 grade-point average overall, and who rank in the top 35 percent of their class are eligible.
Phi Beta Kappa, America's most prestigious scholastic organization, was founded in 1776. 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø chapter, Beta of Georgia, dates from 1926. Phi Beta Kappa encourages and recognizes outstanding scholarly achievement of undergraduate and graduate students in the liberal arts. Election to membership is based on a number of criteria, including grade point ratio. A limited number of seniors are considered each year for membership. The electors of the chapter are the 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø faculty, staff and administrators who are Phi Beta Kappa members.

Phi Sigma Tau's purpose is to:

  1. Serve as a means of awarding distinction to students having high scholarship and personal interest in philosophy.
  2. Promote student interest in research and advanced study in this field.
  3. Provide opportunities for the publication of student research papers of merit.
  4. Encourage a professional spirit and friendship among those who have displayed marked ability in this field.
  5. To popularize interest in philosophy among the general collegiate public.
The purpose of the Society is to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and Francophone literatures, to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world and to stimulate and to encourage French and francophone cultural activities.
Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating and maintaining excellence in scholarship and for advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to students who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests and who meet the minimum qualifications: Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychological Society.
Theta Alpha Kappa is the National Honor Society in Religious Studies and Theology of the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature scholarly societies. The chapter was established at 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø in 1995. Membership in Theta Alpha Kappa is available to all students who have completed a minimum of three courses (12 credits) in Religious Studies, have a 3.5 GPA in those courses, and have a 3.0 overall GPA.
