Our 12-month (three-semester), full-time program is ideal for students with a strong academic record who seek a year of intensive graduate study before applying to health professions programs such as medical school, physician assistant, dental or veterinary programs.
Through our acclaimed cohort model, you will complete the accelerated M.S. in medical sciences program through in-person study, beginning in the summer semester. This program is designed enhance your competitiveness for postgraduate health professions programs.
Our accelerated Master of Science in Medical Sciences program is designed to enhance your academic record with advanced biomedical science courses. The curriculum also focuses on enhancing professional competencies for pre-health students. Additionally -- you'll complete an intensive MCAT test preparation course at no additional cost for those who fully complete the course. You will choose between Blueprint and Princeton review to complete your MCAT test prep course, or another test prep course for the health professions depending on the offerings of the partner.*
You’ll benefit from a physician-designed signature course series to enhance your competitive profile; these include Professional Success in Medicine and Health and Clinical Practicum. You'll also develop your skills and complete a community service project in an Atlanta hospital, clinic or nonprofit.
Building on the pre-medical course requirements, our M.S. in medical sciences accelerated program includes graduate-level courses in anatomy and physiology, medical cell biology, genetics, public health and medical biochemistry, among others. You will learn to:

91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø and Morehouse School of Medicine are partners with a linkage agreement for medical sciences master’s students who meet specific criteria. Eligible students enrolled full-time in this master’s program, who start in the summer semester, are invited to apply for this linkage to the M.D. degree at Morehouse University School of Medicine.
Qualified students enrolled in this program who are committed to practicing osteopathic medicine can consider applying for the 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) linkage agreement to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree at PCOM.
91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Medical Sciences master's students also benefit from a linkage with the 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Physician Assistant program. Qualified students who are currently enrolled in this program will be guaranteed an interview for admission consideration, with the possibility of reaching their goal of becoming a physician assistant.
In our M.S. in medical sciences accelerated program, you’ll benefit from our team of health professions advisers as they walk with you through each step of the application process.
Qualified students are eligible for a personalized, detailed committee letter to support your health professions applications. Each letter is tailored to your unique strengths and accomplishments. You can take advantage of this service for up to one year after you complete the program.
As an added perk, all medical sciences students receive an Interfolio account. Health professions advisers guide you through the process to store committee letters and application materials in your Interfolio Dossier, which connects directly with the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).
In addition to a rigorous academic experience, students in our Medical Sciences Accelerated program complete community service or relevant volunteer experience. Our students benefit from relationships that 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø has maintained with organizations throughout the metro-Atlanta area.
Most students in our accelerated Master of Science in Medical Sciences program plan to apply to medical schools and other health professions advanced programs.
As a student in the accelerated M.S. in Medical Sciences program, you’ll participate in an intensive MCAT test preparation course at no additional cost for those who fully complete the course. You will choose between Blueprint and Princeton review to complete your MCAT test prep course, or another test prep course for the health professions depending on the offerings of the partner.*
While the primary goal of this program is to prepare you for medical school and health professions programs, this degree may also benefit students seeking other related pathways. You may choose to work in a hospital, medical practice, research organization, clinic, educational community or other broader community settings.
*91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø does not endorse a particular test preparation company; however, we have established partnerships with The Princeton Review and Blueprint in an effort to provide services to students at no cost to the student if the course is completed. Students enrolled in one of the participating post-bacc or medical sciences master's programs have the discretion to utilize these no-cost options or select and pay for another test preparation company of their choosing. Students who opt-in to take one of the test prep courses offered by 91³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø must complete the course to realize the "no-cost" benefit.
