Teaching and Scholarly Interests
Her current academic interests are rooted in parasitology and her research investigates the free-living amoeba by culture, microscopy, and molecular techniques. Free-living amebae belonging to the genera Acanthamoeba, Balamuthia, and Naegleria are rare causes of disease in humans and animals.
